St. Gertrude's Church (2)
Last week we learnt that St. Gertrude is the patron saint of travellers. The German Church in the old town (here) is from the 14th century but the painted windows are "only" a century old.

I love stained glass windows.
They look like patchwork...
Hard to imagine a church from the 14th century. You have a real treasure. I wonder what they windows were that these replaced.

What a great picture, Per. Love the light in the glass. By the way, you've been tagged. Visit Ystad DP and find out what you are required to do.
It is a treasure, Steve. This is not the oldest church around but still a prominent part of the Old Town. Your comment is important, we tend to take things around us for granted. Real old architecture, for instance. We've been fortunate to have peace for centuries. Those less fortunate, many on this continent, can tell us about their lost treasures.
I agree with all of you, these windows are really something. We'll return to St. Gertrude later on.
I didn't know that. But now I do. Thanks for the lesson.
Usually, I can't remember them all. There are way too many saints out there. :-)
I think there are too few saints in this world but I see your point, Ming(tm)! :)
