summer night city: simply red
First mentioned in 1311, Saint Jacob's Church is a red beauty situated between the Opera and the park Kungsträdgården. It used to be a parish of its own but since very few people live in the inner city it was merged into the Stockholm Cathedral parish.

Galet läckert - färgerna nästan anfaller genom skärmen! :o)
Jag jobbar i city, så jag går förbi kyrkan väldigt ofta - men nån bra bild har jag aldrig fått till... Just brytningen mellan de röda väggarna och den blå himlen är ju magisk - men vill aldrig fastna i min kamera...!
How beautiful this red against the dark blue. Magnificent. Well done and thanks for sharing this.
The colours - YES!
Magnificent. The enlarged verison really highlights the inensity of the colours, which are also so sharp.
Wow, spectacular sky and colors in the photo. The building looks almost golden and the sky is simply beautiful.
I love the colors against each other here. Beautiful shot.

Per: I really don't know why I still get surprised by your nightshots. They are brilliant as always, but I have to agree with the rest of the guys' comments. These colours are just great! I would lift my hat for you - if I had one. You will have to imagine the gesture :-)
I was just aiming for those colours, you're absolutely right. Sort of unusual in my case, I tend to make things a bit too complicated.
Jenny: Jag har jobbat ett stenkast bort flera år och aldrig fått till något bra vid Jakob heller men den här satt som en smäck. Gillar ditt uttryck, "färgerna anfaller"... ;)
Blognote: Thanks, I was lucky to walk by this church at the right moment.
Lena: YES!!
Babooshka: Glad you enjoy the larger version. I hope all our visitors are aware that every photo can be enlarged whenever you feel like doing so.
Ming(tm): Thanks for those words, I've enjoyed your night shots many times.
Paz: I suppose it's a bit impolite to portray a church like this but you're right: I got what I wanted...
Thanks Bernt. I fully appreciate the virtual gesture... ;)
As a matter of fact I almost succeeded in making this complicated as well because there is a lovely well-lit *green* tree behind the church and I was trying to figure out a way to have all three colours dominate the photo. No luck. Still, I was very pleased with the result. Thanks for stopping by.
I see nothing impolite about the photograph. Great job.
