Gaston Bachelard wrote a fine book "La flamme d'une chandelle", poetry and philosophy. "The candle flame".

It's a lovely way to remember loved ones. Candles always give off soft illumination and give a sense of serenity and peace.

You have managed to catch both the cold and the warmth of this day. A very nice shot!

Hadn't heard of this author, Deslilas. According to Wikipedia he was an important philosopher and this appears to have been his last book.

Kate: And the impression when thousands of candles are lit... is overwhelming.

JM: Thanks. It was a picture perfect day except for the little fact that it was dreadfully cold. My fingers didn't appreciate this photo session.

Järnladyn: It certainly was a day of cold as well as warmth and I'm glad if the photo can convey a sense of it all.

Remembering, being grateful for the time we got with loved ones and - most important - caring for the ones we still have around us.

Thanks Paz.
