the colour of solna
When the sun is near the horizon, its light must penetrate a long way through the atmosphere before reaching our eyes. Most rays of light are scattered by air molecules. Since red light does not scatter as easily as do other colours of the visible spectrum, we can enjoy skies with all sorts of red nuances. This one was captured in Solna.

I like the colours but also the row of streetlamps!
A perfect image to look over and over.
Gorgeous. Stunning. Wow. Sigh...
Wow! Great photo! These colours are amazing!
Absolutely gorgeous
Stunning colors here.
The funny thing is that the sky was even more spectacular a few minutes earlier but it took me a while to get my act together and find a proper angle. With the smallest of margins, I guess I made it this time.
Guy D: Glad to have you as a follower, most welcome!
cieldequimper: I agree, those lamps are important and I was pleased they were lit surprisingly early.
humanobserver: Appreciate that.
Pia K: I could try telling you that Solna always looks like this but I know you wouldn't believe me! ;)
m_m: A bit hard actually to describe those colours. That's why I started ranting about red nuances.
Babooshka: Ironically the presence of air pollution is said to "improve" this kind of phenomenon.
Steffe: What would you call these colours? I have no idea. Purplish-violet-red and then some?
Thanks all.
Du är så himla duktig, både med text och himlar!TACK för att vi får se och läsa!
Wow! This is stunning! Love the yellow lamp lights contrasting with all this pink/red! Fantastic!
That's gorgeous! Certainly a big leap from yesterday's photo.
Så där fina färger kan det väl inte finnas i Mordor (Solna)? ;-)
Det var i alla fall en fin bild!
Per, glad to see you are still posting daily photos of Stockholm! Lovely photo! :) Peace to you this Valentine's weekend. ~Suz.
That's my kind of photo! Very, very nice.
I did get a second shot of that sunset. The one you've seen is probably better but I guess I might as well show the other one some day.
Lena Johansson: Att ha så HIMLA vänliga läsare är ett privilegium! :)
JM: OK, let's settle for pink/red then. Thanks!
Halcyon: Isn't that amazing? Same city, different day and an entirely different scene.
Kenta Jönsson: Hehe. Jo, jag lovar. Faktum är att bilden är tagen med ryggen praktiskt taget intill den grå stenhögen Fotbollstadion. Så man kan säga att all färg fanns åt samma håll...
madeforjoy: Peace to you, Suz. As long as there are friendly readers we can't stop doing this, can we?
Jacob: Appreciate that.
Again, thanks all of you.
Fab photo! I love pink sunsets :-)
We did have some difficulties with colour classification but let's go for pink then! Thanks, Tinsie.
These skies are to die for...I have some photos of Cedar Key, Florida sunsets where the sky went into pink/purple. Fantastic.
