some like it cold (2)
Hanging around for a snack with your buddies on a day off by the lake. Well, not exactly. More like trying to survive, in fact. A parting shot from the winged squad by Lötsjön.

Thinking about our mild winters (not this year) it seems so strange these bird can survive there amidst the ice. I know they can, but it's kind of incredible...
Bless, these birds are quite resilient!
A wonderful, feathery foto! Quack, quack, quack
This is such an amazing scene for me! Not something I'm ever likely to see.
Poor guys! Hope they don't get frozen in.
oh my God, what a perfect image, it looks like Heaven!
We have a snowy exercise coming up for you in a couple of days so stay tuned for that.
VP: It's all part of their natural surroundings but I'm still impressed by the way they handle this yearly (?) challenge.
Tinsie: They sure are. Until they get sick for whatever reason. Then it's finito. Those feathers have to be in perfect order.
Leif Hagen: And quack right back to you! You're darn right - this was a noisy encounter.
Hilda: Glad to be able to share it with you. Anyone who brings some bread of just about anything fit to eat becomes a hero among this crowd.
Halcyon: As a matter of fact they do get some assistance and that's why there are so many here. The lake is kept from freezing over entirely and I guess there's some food involved too.
Paty: Appreciate that! :)
Stay warm, everyone.
I like it cold! So I can only love this photo!
So many birds in one photo!
A nice lake to walk around.I will take a walk there soon, I think.
This is a lovely photograph! But, I'm with VP - how can they exist in such a place? Why haven't they flown off to warmer climes?
the birds seems to be having a gr8 time amidst the cold. ^0^
again, very catchy title.
In the words of Safe Leif, quack, quack, quack!
cieldequimper: With a bit of sunshine and the right clothes - sure, why not?
Lena Johansson: You will enjoy taking a walk here.
Jacob: Ain't no place like home?
arabesque: It's a tough life but many of them will make it. Finding titles is part of the fun!
Thanks folks.
