On the 8th of February,
Filadelfia churches in Stockholm started a
campaign called "100 days with Jesus". It is also the title of a book written by Niklas Piensoho. If all the churches are lit like this one - I'm going! But not really to listen to the sermon. I've got other plans :-)
When there is sun in the sky and ice on the water suddenly everybody have to take a walk on water. It's nice for a change to see the shore from the water side instead of the other way around.

A cold morning by
Vallentuna Church. A father is sorely missed.
Could have
been. Those reindeer look more like rams and the wagon is much to small to keep all those Christmas gifts. No, in fact this is one of the mightiest gods of northern mythology - Thor (God of thunder) in his wagon, racing across the sky. The wagon is drawn by Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr (that would be Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher in English). Now you know. I believe the sculpture is called "Thor's Wagon".
Östgötagatan on the island Södermalm stretches almost all the way from Norra Hammarbyhamnen in the southernmost to
Slussen in the north. The street has its name from the province Östergötland in the south east of Sweden.
The Royal Institute of Technology offers an impressive electronic library. Searching databases, articles and e-journals is only a keyboard away for those with a library account. There is however a real KTH Library as well at
Osquars backe. Here you'll find study rooms, computers, copying facilities, lots of books, a café and - indeed - a
Tree of Knowledge.
Glass is an important souvenir to bring home after visiting Sweden. Glass is timeless - a winner in just about any season. Still, few Swedes would consider enjoying their daily
glass at this time of year. After all,
glass is the Swedish word for ice-cream and it's quite cold enough, thank you. Just look at the icy
Riddarfjärden. Not unlike a floor of glass.
