high above us
Standing at the bottom of this fountain gives you a remarkable angle. Where it is? Nacka Strand, right outside the restaurant "J". I don't think too many people have seen it from this angle though, so it might be a little hard to recognize.

It was originally sketched by Carl Milles in 1946 as a tribute to the United Nations. It was meant to be placed outside the UN-building on Manhattan. That never happened (obviously). This replica is made by Marshall M. Fredericks and was inaugurated in 1995.

The arc symbolises heaven and God is standing there, putting out the stars. At the bottom there's an angel giving him one star after another. It's 23 m high (the bow is 18m), a symbol for Nacka Strand.

Cudos to Wikipedia for the knowledge. Zoom in on the map and you will see it from above. Come back again and you will get to see more.

I hope they are using the same water over and over and not just wasting ground water. It makes a beautiful photograph in any event. And a clever way for your to take the picture. Nice work.
Thankyou for the very special angle, Bengt. I have seen it many times from the water, this is another experience.
Grym bild! Vinkeln gör bilden spännande, och lite oväntad. Molnbildning höjer ju också intrycket av bilden. Känns klockrent..
Very nice photo. I really like the angle.
That's a fabulous photo - I saw it in the portal and was immediately curious! I like it very much.

Abraham Lincoln: Since the water ends up into the saltwater, I guess it's recycled.
Lena: Me too, that's why I took the chance to get closer.
Bloggkentajonsson: Vänta bara på uppföljaren...:-)
Halcyon: So do I. It turned out better than I expected.
Jackie: Thanks. Come back and look at the followup later.
bernt >> Okej! Släng upp uppföljaren nu.. kan ju inte vänta så länge när du säger så där.. :-)
This is brilliant. The angle is fantastic
Great job Bernt! Love the angle of the shot. It looks gigantic and tall.
Very interesting angle!
The restaurant J is by the way a wonderful place to spend a late afternoon/early evening, sipping a glass of wine and watching all the huge ferryboats passing by.
bloggkentajonsson: Jag skulle gärna göra det, men vi är fler som samsas om utrymmet, så du får ge dig till tåls ;-)
babooshka: Thanks, I like it too
Ming: It IS tall. 23m is no small fountain.
Järnladyn: Yes, I saw quite a number of people doing just that, when I was there. Maybe I should try it sometime....but then again, I would have the same problem as alway - to get home would cost me a small fortune :-(
What a great perspective!
