Mr Walker
This sign indicates a pedestrian crossing. Kids in Sweden are taught that the sign shows Mr Walker, a pun: "här går man" meaning "here you walk" and pronounced the same way as "herr Gårman" meaning "Mr Walk Man". Aiming to be the most equal country in the world the authorities have recently introduced a Ms Walker sign.
On this street, at Skebokvarnsvägen 209, the Swedish punk/rock phantom Joakim Thåström (Ebba Grön/Imperiet/Peace, Love and Pitbulls/Sällskapet) grew up.

Ms Walker , eh? Good to learn that we're addressing the profoundly important issues of our time...
That is too much. Sometimes, from what I've read, it seems that Sweden has gone nuts with this diversity/equality stuff, and the results have not been so pretty...cf. Malmo.
So when are you going to show Ms Walker? Does she wear a dress or pants? ;-)
@Per: A sign of our wealth maybe?
@Jacob: You are well informed ... and right I think.
@Halcyon: I have never seen a Ms Walker sign live, but here she is dressed in a dress (courtesy Swedish Transport Agency).
We have lady crosswalk signs - but usually they are only outside of schools. Because of course ALL teachers are ladies and ONLY mothers come to pick up children after school. I guess there's no pleasing people. :)
