Half way between the city and Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, the hotel Scandic Infra City tries to tempt us with a large indoor garden. There's quite a bit of green outside as well. Incidentally, this is where a U.N. conference on Iraq took place in May.

summer night city: silence is golden

The smallish town of Sigtuna is the namesake of a municipality including Märsta as well as Arlanda Airport. However insignificant today, Sigtuna used to be one of Sweden's most important cities a thousand years ago. Most of these boats in the Sigtuna Harbour on a quiet evening appear to be a lot younger.

unusual sight

My guess is that many of us know this shell, but not from this altitude. You've seen it if you've been to the City Hall sometime. Here seen from the top of the bell tower and those tiny people are no midgets (even if there are a few children around). Stay tuned for more pics from this viewpoint.

daily photo theme day: yellow brick roof

Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au (from its Latin name aurum) and atomic number 79. It is a highly sought-after precious metal which, for many centuries, has been used as money, a store of value and in jewellery. Or as we like to do in Stockholm: use it as a roofing. No, just kidding ... Even though Sweden is at the top of the welfare league we wouldn't do such a silly thing.
