I suppose we could point out that this is not the standard outfit for public mailboxes in Stockholm. Not at Easter and not at other times of year. Where did you find these, Bernt?

Ah these caused a lovely laugh -- I thought I was looking at Orville for a moment there.

Yours certainly wins the price of humour! Bon dimanche!

I love that chicken look!

Well, that's definitely original... why do I have this sudden urge to go and dress my neighbourhood postbox in some sort of animal suit?

Very clever. The rest of the world should have this much fun!

Very funny! What do they do for Christmas?

Is that a winter costume? Well, very unique!

Looks like a version or relative of "Big Bird!"

ohhh, very funny! This is not 'sesame street' i suppose;)

Very unique. But I'm not sure I would feel comfortable placing payment for an important bill in this mailbox.

Does it shoot out colored Easter eggs on Easter Sunday?

This takes the "carrier pigeon" to a whole new level....

That is just plain bizarre! I love it.

I guess Bernt isn’t online today so let me say thank you on his behalf for all comments and for your visiting us. I do agree that there is distinct Sesame Street flavor to all of this... :)

First of all a big thanks to all of you who have left a comment. Per's right, I had other things to do yesterday.
Secondly, the mailbox was found outside the postoffice at the Centralstation, and there were several more over the city, around easter that year. No eggs coming out, and I think it was quite safe to put your bills into it.

It looks like a pinata of Mexico!
Cot cot cot, laying any eggs?

Ha, ha, is this for real?

Those feathers tickled me!

At first I thought it was a street prank for April's Fools Day, but since it was at the central office then it must have been officially approved? How fun!

The mailbox had too much to drink, had sex with Big Bird and woke up with his feathers all over it.

Spot on, Ming (tm)!

Well, it seems this box created some fuzz....:-) I'm glad. The box was for real. It was part of some nice campaign that year, to brighten up the boxes. I think they succeeded. It must have been a hell of a job getting all the feathers on them....
