#1002 mid-month theme: subway day

The Old Town has seen it all. Most conceivable modes of transportation have been on display. Here are a couple of subway trains doing their best to appear futuristic and exciting while crossing the bridge to Slussen ("the Sluice").

subway day is a mid-month theme shared by the following blogs:

This is the kind of photo which I have to learn how to take! What a sky!

Nice photo indeed.

Tripod and a long shutter speed (and a bit of photoshop) is the answer to your question :)

Your kind camera has given you a new golden photo.
You are a lucky photographer!
Have you heard about King Midas?

All you have to do is come to Stockholm, Peter! ;) Well, I'm sure you have great skies in Paris as well. As a matter of fact you will have better night skies during the coming months because it gets too light here for my kind of night shots.

Gardebring: Thanks. Most will probably use a tripod, I don't. Some might want to post-process the photo, I don't. Long shutter speed, definitely.

Lena: You're too kind. Yes, I've heard about Midas. He did get himself into trouble big time so let's stay away from his example! :)

Thanks for stopping by.

I have difficulties figuring out where you have been standing when taking this photo. You have to show me one day ;o)

Oh, yes,and it's a good one Per!

Very nice. Hope you didn't have to sit in the cold for long to get it! Unless it's warm, and then I suppose it might have been nice!

What a beautiful, crisp and striking photo! Like Peter, I want to learn how to take these kinds of photos as well -- something for me to aspire to!

Probably at the same spot where you shot this one, Peter?

Halcyon: It was reasonably warm, for me at least. Some like it hot. I don't! ;)

Moworld: Thanks.

Ming(tm): We've got ourselves a nice little tradition going here, don't we.

Ptowngirl: You're too kind. Finding the right motif takes a while, the rest is no big deal in my case really. I'm using a standard compact camera and this was shot with the standard night mode and self-timer. Just one trick to remember, find a flat surface for the camera (or use a tripod if you will). That's it.

Again, thanks all.
