Saltsjöbaden (nowadays part of Nacka Municipality) was established as a sea side resort. The single most important event here during the twentieth century was the Saltsjöbaden Agreement on industrial relations which paved the way for decades of strong growth and a peaceful labor market. When spring finally does happen it's a rapid process. We've had warm weather over the recent few days and any remnants of ice are vanishing rapidly.

Goodness, it still looks cold! If you get the chance, perhaps you could take a similar shot when things have warmed up.

Jacob: As you can see, this was taken on 15 March but until a week or so ago I'd say it would have looked pretty much the same. Now the story is a lot sunnier and less icy. Good point though, I'd like to return here.

As to the temperature of the sea water here, it must now be around 12ºC which is pretty cold for me! I'll have to wait to take a swim... :-)

Halcyon: It has already warmed up but you could still find ice in the waters surrounding the city. Not for long though.
