benchmarking in Alby

I had to have another encounter in Botkyrka with the red benches at Alby subway station, decorated by Olle Ängqvist. This is a remake and you know what they say - remakes are never quite as good as the original. So, what's your verdict?

I checked an re-checked, but I can't see any difference...

I like both. The colours are more saturated in this picture, but I can't decide if I like them better or not.

Choices, choices!!

I prefer the second but I like bold colors.

I like the red benches. I remain undecided on the original or the second.

I have my heart in Alby, thank you Per!

The shallow DoF and the clear colours make me prefer the recent shot. The motif itself is pretty similar...

Vogon Poet: I guess some film makers would be happy if their remake got such remarks... ;)

Tinsie: Tell me about it! Choices all the time. A few hours on the loose with the camera leave me with hundreds of photos, mostly junk of course. Gah!

B Squared: And I tend to agree with you. The old one looks quite pale in comparison.

arabesque: Good to have you stopping by here as well.

Halcyon: The entire station is a little gem.

Lena Johansson: I know you have, Lena. I should have revisited that sculpture above ground as well. Ah, some other day.

Thanks all for joining us on the bench!

I like this one better as it is composed in such a fashion that it leads the eye down to the center of the area...the first one leads the eye off to the left...

Colors are great!

Well, in this case I must say I prefer the remake, or at least, the photo! :-)

Seems we share the same compassion for public transport. Like you, the first thing I do when visiting a new city is to explore its public transport system. I believe it is a great way to mingle with locals.

Not the comfiest bench around. Still, few people would sit here more than 5-10 minutes.

Jacob: Good point about leading the eye.

JM: Your vote has been counted, sir!

Vogon Poet: Maybe I should give it another year and then return to Alby to settle this...

Buenos Aires Photoblog: A great way to mingle. A bit of representative sight-seeing and lots of fun. Riding a crowded afternoon tram through the congested streets of Rome was one of my all time highlights.

Thanks all!
