above all in Hässelby gård

Sometimes, the subway becomes an above-way. From a station platform we can look down on life as we know it in Hässelby gård and westwards along the tracks to and from the end station Hässelby strand. In the foreground is a sculpture "Flora II" by Per-Erik Willö.

The predominant talk of the town today concerns the lack of subway traffic on these very tracks. This rail system has been partly paralyzed by snow and cold weather so most of the above-ground is in fact out of order at the moment.

cieldequimper: Snow here, there and everywhere. Sometimes even in round shapes...

Tinsie: The sculpture consists of those coloured screens down in the foreground. This is not a good angle for admiring it but I thought I should mention it all the same.

arabesque: From here to infinity...

Halcyon: Much to my surprise.

Thanks all for levitating above Hässelby with us.

Nicely composed making it a very interesting shot!

Re: kayaking...nope, never tried it, but Lois Anne keeps after me as she wants to give it a whirl on one of our local rivers - or at Cedar Key!

Jag gjorde en termins lärarpraktik där för länge sedan men minns inga vackra konstverk därifrån, så tack! Det är kanske värt ett besök igen!
Fin bild!

Interesting angle.

I like the geometry of this shot but, as I often say, has a more complicated idea of sculpture than this...

I couldn't decide on whether to include a train in the photo or not. It so happens that traffic was canceled here the day the photo was published so this version turned out to be highly appropriate...

Jacob: Something about the symmetry and perspective, probably.

Claes/Lena: Numera finns ju åtminstone ett par skulpturer som vi visat på sistone. Gör ett återbesök!

Andreea: So I thought.

VP: In fairness, the screens are nicely painted and the sculpture offers more for the eye when viewed from the proper level.

Again, thanks all.
