a touch of glass

Whoever believes that modern art has got to be unattractive and incomprehensible should pay a visit to St. Eskil's Church from 1994 by Handen centrum. Artist Bosse Falk created this monumental glass painting. See more?

Most of it, Per, exceptions are welcome and easy to spot! This is a very good work.

yups! you've got a point here that I agree with. This is a beautiful stained glass.

That looks familiar. I got a cup of coffee and some cakes on my visit. Here is my version of the window.

Not that I do believe modern art has to be unattractive/incomprehensible, but this is truely beautiful.

Visiting the occasional art exhibit once in a while is not a bad idea. Or simply stopping by the nearest church, in this case.

VP: A pleasant composition of colours.

Alexander: The exterior of this church is rather low key. It blends in nicely among the residential buildings in Handen.

Steffe: Great light in that shot.

Jenny: Right on both charges. The witness may be seated! ;)

Luis Gomez: A new church is being built in Sollentuna (another suburb on the opposite side of the city) and my expectations are rather high.

Wish I could paint like this. And not necessarily on glass...

A very nice design in glass. There are several glass artists in my area that produce beautiful church windows and other items; abstract or realistic, I love light through colored glass windows.

There is some very good modern art and this is a fine example.
I find it much harder to find a textureless white canvas artistic.

I like modern art, and I like this too. Nicely captured, well done.

I want to see the light of a sunny day through this window.

Three Rivers: Glass is timeless and... sometimes priceless.

cieldequimper: I'd have to agree about the canvas...

JM: Also, blue and green happens to be a favourite colour combiation of mine.

Lena Johansson: Bra association. Det finns faktiskt ett kul lapptäcke (av inköpslappar!) på Vårsalongen men det här är betydligt snyggare.

Halcyon: One could probably fill an entire year of daily posts with glimpses from our churches. So much to see.

Tinsie: So what would be your take on that white canvas that ciel mentions...? ;)

arabesque: Must be very rewarding for an artist to create something like this and then find it displayed in such a visible, even prominent place.

Thanks everyone.
