the better way

After decades of inter-municipal squabbling, the old winding railroad to Kungsängen was finally replaced in 2001. Part of the project was crossing the strait Almarestäket. You have already seen this bridge from below and - as usual - there's more over here.

Would you agree that the railway is in fact a better way?

arabesque: Agreed, this angle is a lot prettier.

Lena Johansson: Vilket fint ställe att ha en mamma på! Fast kanske lite blåsigt på vintern, åtminstone när jag var där. Gott om sekundmeter och minusgrader, solen till trots...

Thanks for leaving your comments.

A very impressive bridge and a nicely-composed photograph. And look at all that white stuff!

Hi Per S -

Re your comment on Ocala DP - those are cattle which belong to a ranch which surrounds us. Originally, all the land in this area consisted of a very large cattle ranch. Eventually, it will all be developed...we think...but probably not in our lifetime.

Fantastic bridge and I'm sure your shot makes it justice! Just wonderful!

I like the shape of this bridge. Well shot :-)

With four commuter trains every (peak) hour and many new regional connections there are certainly lots of trains crossing this strait nowadays.

Jacob: The white stuff has been known to cause difficulties for commuters...

Halcyon: It is, isn't it?

JM: I suppose we should give some credit to the architect as well... ;)

Tinsie: Glad you like it, this was by far the coldest finger-numbing expedition this winter!

Thanks everyone.
