Snow in all shapes and sizes. Behind piles of snow, lumps of snow being plowed off the motorway have rolled down making these tracks in... snow, of course!
You know, if I ever had time to make that (temporarily) final post for Plenty, I had planned for it to be a snowy photograph followed by a reflection around the word "Fimbul winter". For a lingo-nerd such as myself, the best thing about this winter is that it's given me several occasions to use this fantastic word. Who knows when we will see a winter that fits that description the next time...?
(But except for that, I'm pretty happy to have escaped the snow, more or less at least.)
This particular winter may have been slightly too much of a good thing but March is really something different. There's daylight again! Lots of it.
Jenny: Fimbul is the word. A remnant of an older poetic language, according to our friends at Wiktionary . I suppose there's less of the powdery stuff in a certain City, right?
arabesque: With a generous sun shining over the entire picture!
Jacob: And yet spring is said to be right on schedule. Remains to be seen, I guess.
Halcyon: So it is. And cold.
Appreciate your hanging around in the snow with us.

I think you are a bit snowed under!
Beautiful!

This is so cool! The kind of avalanche I wouldn't mind watching! :-)
I love snow, we get so little of it over here! Interesting to see how snow can make marks on snow :-)
The white colour reflects equal quantities of all frequencies of visible light, according to Wiktionary.
JM: I'm with you. A smaller, safer scale to deal with.
Tinsie: Many of us also love snow but at the moment we're somewhat tired of the white mayhem...
Glad to have you stopping by our local snow droves.
