park-a-lot (5)

Time to get rid of your car again? Maybe this parking garage in Sickla will do? Actually, in this picture we have a blend of old and new. There's an old steam machine from 1917 in front of this building.

modern ambo

An ambo is a speaker's stand in the front of a church. When the sunlight enters Vallentuna Church this modern ambo reflects the beautiful old interior in new colours.

pathos in bagarmossen

Following ethos... pathos is the second pillar of classic rhetoric. To convince our audience, we amplify and generally bring emotions into the argument.

the skarpnäck dimension

An art student recently got his fifteen minutes of fame by videotaping his act of vandalizing a subway car. Other artists help brighten our everyday life through their unique contributions. Ever since 1994, these 17 bench-like sculptures made from unpolished granite by Richard Nonas have made Skarpnäck subway station an intriguing venue for geometry and perspectives. Sometimes, art is worth every krona of our tax money.

royal parking

Multi-storey car park in Kungens kurva ("King's Curve"). The name has its story: On 28 September 1946, king Gustav V and friends were on their way home from a hunt at the Tullgarn Palace south of Stockholm. It is rumoured that the king pushed the driver to 'step on it', eventually the Cadillac skidded off the road and ended up in a ditch. The king was uninjured and the driver was saluted for his resourcefulness.
