charlie's place

Karlaplan (or "Charles' Plaza") is an open park oasis at Östermalm where five streets intersect in a way resembling star patterns in cities like Paris. Here's the entrance to the subway station which opened in 1967.

Nice photo. I like the unusual angle.

The company operating the Stockholm subway decided a couple of years ago to establish an ambitious new graphical profile for the subway. This sign, colours and all, is a result and they managed to redecorate a number of stations before politicians intervened and decided that this was in fact beyond the responsibility of this operator. End of program.

Thanks for commenting, Halcyon.
