daily photo theme day: subway baker

This is a photo of my local bakery at the Hornstull metro station. It has a minimalistic shop selling bread in all colours and shapes and outside, in the 'subway area', you can sit down and have a coffee and a bun or cake. On the way home from work I sometimes stop and buy some fresh bread for my evening tea. To the left of the bakery is a flower shop, on the opposite a barber, a cobbler and a Pressbyrån convenience store.

It is nice to see a bakery which is one of my favorite places to shop. Nice picture.

Yes, I don't remember seeing a bakery shop at other stations here in Stockholm - in Budapest they are The Standard Thing at every station. That is one thing I miss a lot here in Sweden - that chain in Hungary has soooooo yummy stuff! but maybe I should also try this one at Hornstull.

Very nice. It's good when you have a convenient stop to purchase everything you need on the way home.

What about lenten buns, Peter? Would this be a reliable source for the "semla" season?

You can see the guy in the background about to enjoy his bread on the spot.

Next time I'd love to see a detail of your "bread in all colours and shapes"... very different from our French breads I suppose ?

Great photo. I just adore the scent of a bakery! Lucky you ... every day on the way home.

Almost everybody loves the scent of newly baked bread, why is that? Sometimes it's very difficult to just walk by. Sometimes one just has to stop and buy.

Thanks all for stopping by on this bakery .. sorry, on this local shop day.

With such convenience, it would be impossible to resist!

This is the first bakery I've seen. For some reason, I thought all the European blogs would show bakeries. :)

What kind of bread do you usually buy?

Carraol said...

This bakery looks very attractive, I can imagine the wonderful stuff you can buy there. Great choice!

Halcyon: I just walk in and let them surprise me :o)

You did a great corner on your blog!

Did you visit Rotterdam? Yes, it's another European bakery!
