- Yes, I know they call this spring but do bring your coat!
April in Stockholm can be confusing. Finally, we have so much daylight and yet the evenings can be bitingly chilly. Recognize the ship in the background? Slussen (map) 20 April 2009
Incidentally, this is the first time I'm publishing a photo from a new SLR camera of mine. Until now, all my photos on pixels have originated in a compact P&S.
Vogon Poet: I hadn't heard about that ship but when looking it up I can certainly see a similarity. But in this case, just click on the link for the answer...
cieldequimper: Yep, a certain youth hostel once again. Well, I wouldn't be too worried about your weather. You'll have plenty of warmth again before anyone can say "May Day demonstrations"! :)
Tinsie: Thanks. In fairness, this week is a lot warmer than last Monday when this was shot and we're in for a summer:ish weekend, I'm told.
Hyde DP: She's a beauty, isn't she!
Halcyon: Don't worry. It was a chilly and windy evening and this gentleman was adequately equipped to withstand it all. It was even a bit cold for me and that's somewhat unusual, as my friends could testify...
I really like the blurred background here. Great portrait! About the weather, well... don't mention it! We thought summer was here (almost 30ºC) and now temperature has follow to half the values and clouds are everywhere in the sky! Grrrr... lol!

The Statsraad Lehmkuhl?
Could be the Statsraad Lehmkuhl but could also be a youth hostel... We're freezing in Paris :-(!!
Great photo! I'd love to visit Stockholm in spring or summer, when the days are really long.
Actually, maybe summer would be best, as I prefer my evenings warm :-)
I'd recognise af chapman anywhere - brilliant reminder
This dude looks a little shady with his collar up and the hat. Do you have mafia in Sweden?? ;)

Thanks, all!

Per, welcome to the SLR-club :-)
Nice capture.
I browsed your other post and I saw her, but it was too late for my answer. Very nice blog, I'll be back (and it's not a threat)!
I don't recognize the ship.
But I do this man. He's a spy for a foreign government; I can't remember which one.
Or maybe he was in a James Bond movie.
Hmmm.
Watch your back!
Ah yes. Nice shot. I love to visit Stockholm one day. Especially summer. I think it will be endless fun. :D

A great portrait. here temperature is 44C.
@humanobserver: In this part of the world 44C is a clothes size, not a temperature.
If I ever set foot on a boat, this place would be even more fun. I bet lot's of interesting photos are waiting to be snapped.
JM: Not much point in debating summer warmth with you. We cannot win!
Bernt Seipl: Thanks. I have no intention of leaving the "compact" club but a few guest appearances in the SLR arena would be fun.
Vogon Poet: It's never too late to answer. Welcome to stop by whenever you feel like doing so.
Jacob: Too few Bond movies have been shot in Stockholm, that's my position on this subject!
Alexander: Any season is fun with us! :)
humanobserver: Thanks, 44C wouldn't be my cup of tea. Alright, the tea itself might be 44C but... ah well you know what I mean.
Peter Fristedt: Amen to that.
Thanks everyone.
