Swedish riksdag

A wooden model of our Parliament (riksdag). The two main buildings are located on the small oval island Helgeandsholmen. Separated by Riksgatan (Kingdom street), the lower square building was originally the bi-chamber assembly and the upper rounded used to be the Riksbank (Swedish National Bank). That building now holds the unicameral assembly hall. The large square on the left is the Royal Palace where the king works.

Riksdag sounds as cousin of Reichstag... This architectural model is very interesting, the compound looks quite well done. Was it was built as a whole or gradually?

Great model for us to get a "bird's eye view." Hope to visit there next summer .....

I wonder how much work a king has to do? I'm sure there is a lot of ceremonial things and imagine that must get tiring;but work?
