where did the track go?

Since 1974 there has been no more departures from Taxinge-Näsby station. It had a quite short lifetime. The trains started to run around 1895 but were initially not planned to pass here. Want a better view of the station?

Taxinge-Näsby is a beautiful station house. I guess that's not enough for traffic?

Guess not, Peter. They did put up a fight though to keep it as a museum-railway. They lost the fight in sept 2006, about 12 years after the last train departed. Since 1997 Eskilstunabanan is replaced by Svealandsbanan.

Pia K: Oh yes, I have visited Taxinge Krog, but it was a while ago. The church is coming up later on Pixels, but have a look at Plenty meanwhile ;-)
