summer night city: sápmi exhibition

...previously on pixels

The Sami are one people in four countries. At Nordiska museet (the Nordic Museum) on Djurgården is an exhibition about Sami life in Sweden. It's open seven days a week, however not at this time of night so we stayed outside admiring the renovation effort going on around the entrance. The real deal of course is the Sami museum Ajtte in Jokkmokk, a mere 1036 km north of Stockholm...

Nice photo and an interesting time of the day and night.

There are people like you walking in the night,a Skansen-guard for example. He walks 15 kms every night. This kind of walk must be something extra :-).

Hope you get a chance to visit Sweden, Elizabeth. Greetings to you as well.

Lena: You're absolutely right. There's quite a lot of walking involved in this kind of night and I really have to get myself some better shoes. Even when there isn't a bus strike going on there isn't much traffic available in the hours I'm aiming for so I'll have to rely on my happy feet... ;)

Deslilas: The Sami culture is strong in Finland as well, good point.
