Riddarholmen

Riddarholmen (The Knights' Islet) is Stockholm's smallest district. In 2004 only two persons lived there. Still, it is an important islet with many important judicial institutions, for instance Svea Court of appeal. In the year 1270 the King Magnus Ladulås donated money for an Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) monastery. Parts of that monastery are still preserved in the Riddarholmen church right at the center of this photo.

A great shot and a fascinating fact. I had no idea that Riddarholmen has only two inhabitants!

You appear to be very high up on the other side of the river. Were you on top of a building?

Excellent photo.

Järnladyn: According to a friend of mine only one person live there now. What an exodus!

Ming (tm): I'm standing what you might call South Central heights (söders höjder). I would estimate that the heights are some 8 to 10 storeys high, so your assumption is not bad at all.

Thank you all!
