At this café by the Djurgården Bridge you can rent a canoe (first hour: €7) or a kayak. They even serve coffee.

The even serve coffee... I like the idea of renting a canoe.
Vad häftigt med en så detaljrik nattbild! Stativ? Trodde det var mot dina principer...? :)
I canoed at night a few years ago. I wonder if they offer a night out program, too. I would find this spectacular.

What a beautiful night shot...It would be a spectacular experience, I think, to canoe these waters in the evening hours and then relax with a cup of java!
I think I would be content just to sip the coffee and watch the canoers. Beautiful view!
Great composition and amazing still water! It must be fantastic canoeing there at night!
The café itself was obviously closed when I stopped by but you can certainly rent your canoe from one day to another.
Vogon Poet: Never tried that. Knowing me and practical aspects ;) I'd need supportive staff for issues ranging from navigation to the actual paddling. I might snap a photo though!
himmelochord: Jepp, stativ! Principer? Har jag inget minne av... ;)
Buenos Aires Photoblog: The water is rather cold still so it'd be a good idea to stay out of it but I agree that it does sound tempting.
Jacob: Maybe someone who actually tried this would care to comment and enlighten us?
Halcyon: I'm with you on this one. Sipping coffee and snapping photos! ;)
JM: Appreciate that. Although rather cold, these waters are remarkably clean for a major city. Might make the prospect of such an excursion even more tempting.
Thanks for hanging around here at night with us!
Hmm, how romantic, as long as HE is doing the rowing!
What a lovely light! I much prefer walking from getting out on water though, no canoe for me!
I wonder what kind of coffee they serve, never tried it.
cieldequimper: Oops, our local feminist party would detonate if they heard that remark... ;)
Pia K: There was certainly a fair amount of walking involved in snapping this view!
Again, thanks all.
Do they serve coffee on the canoe though?
Den här är riktigt bra! Djup (inte kanalen), färger, detaljer.
There are all sorts of ways to avoid those road congestion taxes...
Tinsie: That's an interesting concept. Drive-through (or paddle-through) café for tourists in the flow of things!
Peter Fristedt: Och en kyrka som bonus. Man bockar. Undras hur djupt det är här, för övrigt.
Thanks all for paddling with us!
