Sunday morning by our House of Parliament (Riksdagen) at Helgeandsholmen. 349 members and their staff have just been through a few hectic weeks before the summer recess. Here's a wintry view from the other side.

En äkta foto-akvarell, mycket vackert med de blå toningarna i vattnet!
Love the reflection into the water, and the wintry view is good too!
Quality photo.
Splendid shot. The water reflection is just lovely. Great work!
Beautiful building. The water and the reflections make it even nicer.
Truly a beautiful building...I think I like your "winter" picture as much as this one.
Can't engender much sympathy for politicos or even conceive of them really working very hard...
Becoming more cynical by the day.
The building is from 1905 and for those who know anything about architecture (I don't) this is said to be Neo-Baroque.
Lena Johansson: Tack snälla. Närmare akvareller än så lär jag nog aldrig komma...
Tinsie: Water is essential, for photographers and the rest of us!
Steffe: Appreciate that. Certainly is a piece of quality architecture - they don't build'em like this anymore.
m_m: Oddly, this was something of a random shot. Those who have followed me for a while know that this is not really "my" kind of light. I had already put the camera away and was on my way to catch a bus home when I happened to pass this spot.
Halcyon: Glad you like it too.
Jacob: Peter's wintry shot is great. Snapping photos in the wintertime is a lot more difficult. Everything from batteries to fingers tend to protest against all such efforts.
Thanks all for hanging around our parliament with us.
It's a very nice building, I like the roundness. The winter shot was great too, you can just imagine people rushing home!
Haha, what a nice coincidence! Two blogs, two photos, two parliaments. The Swedish Parliament building is quite beautiful.

Impressive building beautifully photographed!
To our friends in Teheran and elsewhere, here's a quote from Churchill:
- It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.
cieldequimper: They say it's hip to be square but this kind of roundness is... delightful.
Buenos Aires Photoblog: Shh, not so loud. It just keeps on mirroring itself in that water all the time! ;)
JM: I'm not much for early mornings but I've got to admit that this kind of light has its advantages.
Again, thanks all.
Ooh! I love your photos!
And I appreciate your “bottle half-full” attitude to life, the universe and everything. We could all use a bit of that approach sometimes. Thanks, Suz.
