If only all of cell phone conversations were between just two people. I frequently find myself an unwilling third party to many of them. Especially irksome in an otherwise quiet train carriage.
I also think cell phones are very annoying. Like when people use them while they drive and don't pay attention or carry one LOUD conversations in public places.
But there are good things about them too. :)
A bit of an irony that this symbol for freedom (?) is being referred to as a cell phone...

Z: Good point. It used to annoy me as well. Don't know if the phone culture has improved or if it's just a case of me getting used to the chattering. Our long distance trains have phone-free compartments and they're rather popular.

I think it so interesting that people grow phones out of their heads just like they do here!
At least in the case of younger citizens, the phone and the owner tend to be almost inseparable. I once read a funny column where the author changed our perspectives by referring to the phone as a very young device in constant need of care and attention. It has to get older before the owner can even begin to leave it on its own for a short while now and then...
