all aboard the Akalla Express

Rush hour in July is a laid-back experience. A subway train bound for Akalla is about to depart northwards from station Västra skogen. The next one is due in ten minutes. See more?

Nice image with a sense of motion. A laid-back rush hour is a dream for many comuters.

I wonder why that is? Laidback? Here, our snowbirds have all gone home, so traffic is usually much better.

I like the shot...

Service along this line has been partially closed and replaced by buses for some months so not everyone will be happy when the vacation period is over. We'll come back to this topic.

Vogon Poet: Summer in the city has its advantages.

Lef Hagen: Se upp för dörrarna, dörrarna stängs!

Jacob: Thanks. The climate down in the subway is pretty much the same throughout the year so it's a bit amusing to see people in shorts. Obviously, they spend a few minutes down here and choose to adapt to temperatures above ground.

Thanks all for joining our commuting siesta.

Nice slice of life shot! You can't beat a great public transport system. Stockholm seems to have it all what someone might look for in a city.

I really like the out of focus people in colours! Very cool indeed.

By the way, just want you to know it's raining here... Lol! This is crazy!

Don't miss Peter's related bus connection, posted yesterday.

Halcyon: Thanks. It was a blurry kind of moment too.

Buenos Aires Photoblog: As far as public transportation goes, I fully agree. We had some wise politicians a few generations back who took the right decisions.

JM: I'd need proof of that. Rain in your place? ;)

Again, thanks all.
