Skateboarding is a recurring phenomenon. The oldest reference I can think of at the moment was in a Swedish Donald Duck magazine from the sixties. Then they were called "rullbräda" and noone around here knew anything about skateboards. We used to have a language of our own at that time.
Like "rullskridsko" instead of roller blade or what they are called nowadays.
Notice the prefix "rull". It means something is rolling, the skate in this case. So we have rullskridsko, rullbräda, rullsten, rullbana, rullband, rullgardin and many many more. And here endeth todays lesson.
Well captured, Peter. It must be very near to your new flat if I'm not very much mistaken ?
This picture is SO much much better enlarged. I love the anticipation on the face of the child in the striped shirt.
