accessibility in Danderyd
At the end of a subway platform is usually an elevator (as well as escalators). It's not a fancy construction and when a citizen has chosen to urinate inside it does become a rather miserable place. Still, I've visited cities with large subway networks where you had to do the climbing in and out of stations by yourself. Accessibility is about making the city truly available and accessible to all of us - young or old, handicapped or not.

I always dreamed that your country was almost free from these thungs...
And I thought that disgusting thing only happened here.
Hmmm... the door does not look very inviting. More like the entrance to a jail than a lift.
I could add that almost all citizens are well-behaved in this respect but you've already figured that out.
Vogon Poet: Alas no...
B Squared: Not a chance. A universal phenomenon I suppose.
Halcyon: Good point. Not entirely inviting, in fact.
Thanks guys.
People do like to urinate in them. Happens all the time in parking lots here.
Accessibility is so important, try to take the tube in Paris if you can't walk. You are waaaay ahead of us.
That would really piss me off!
yeah, have to agree that it's not that inviting but i guess sometimes accessbility is more important than aesthetics. ^0^
On the other hand, when young and healthy-looking individuals can't bother to open a door anymore but need to press a button - I suppose accessibility has gone astray...
cieldequimper: Don't tell anyone but Paris is in fact one of the cities I was thinking of... But before I go bragging too much about our accessibility I should add that these facilities do tend to be out of order rather frequently. So there's room for improvement everywhere!
Jacob: Now that has got to be the most spot-on comment in recent history! :D
arabesque: Good point!
Thanks all for joining us in this elevating experience.
