attributes of Christmas

A Yule goat and a gingerbread house at a café in Gallerian indoor shopping centre. Two very traditional Swedish Christmas attributes. The most famous Yule goat in Sweden is the Gävle Goat, a gigantic straw goat put up every Christmas in Gävle (160 km north-north-west of Stockholm) and burned down almost as often.

Is the burning of the goat an act of vandalism or political protest?

Burning the Yule Goat is a religious celebration

Religion or no religion, the goat was burnt down a few days before Christmas.

I just remembered: Once an innocent tourist was lured into becoming an arsonist. He thought he had won a competition, but instead the police came and arrested him.
