round talks
The café-and-mingle part in a conference centre. I like the ring with cushions and the circular light intake.

Kind of a bizarre idea. But, interesting to look at.
I sort of like it, although it doesn't look very popular with the guests!
A round table for coffee and socializing? Anyway it's nice...
I'll bet everyone has to sit in the ring and tell their name and where they're from and one important thing about themselves...
Then they hold hands and go "Ohm...."
And Sinatra starts singing, "Getting to know you..."
This is supposed to build community and a sense of togetherness.
Been there, done that. Ugh!
Even when it's held in such a beautiful place as this. And as Halcyon mentioned, the "guests" seem to be studiously avoiding the pit place.
Spot on Jacob!
Not every conference will offer a touch of Close Encounters. Reminds me of your classic hole-in-the-sky image from Central Station. Right here, in case anyone would like a reminder.
@Per: Ah, yes, I like that one! Thanks for reminding me!
