Interesting perspective, looks like the bridge goes on to infinity and beyond.

from the looks of the foto, who would've thought it was underneath the bridge...

I love this picture! I couldn't tell what is was from thumbnails, and it's still not totally apparent that this is the underside of a bridge.
Great use of the light and perspective.
The bridge is opened 10-15 times per day for the benefit of naval traffic. No, we can't see Södertälje Canal in this photo but trust me - there's plenty of water in the vicinity.
During such a routine operation the bridge partly collapsed in 1990. No one was injured but motorway traffic remained severely hampered during a lengthy restoration effort.

Halcyon: Thanks! Luck is certainly useful. I happened to be strolling by when the sun was low. Long shadows tend to create interesting effects.

Intriguing photo - a very classic look. I like the warm colors. Sometimes it's nice to see the sun :)
